Dr. Narendra Armogan is an internationally recognized leader in the ophthalmologic field of retinal cell transplants. In 2006, he was the recipient of the prestigious Scientific Award of Excellence by the American Retina Foundation (ARF) for his ground breaking work of using stem cell transplants to cure retinal diseases. In addition to his excellence in retinal research, Dr. Armogan is responsible for leading several surgical firsts in Canadian medical history. Prominent examples include the first anti-VEGF therapy and multifocal lens implantations by a retinal surgeon with the first radial optic neurotomy performed in Canada.
